Join Slow Food NYC for a fun 5K to help raise money for the Slow Food NYC 2nd Annual Producer Summit. The Producer Summit is a one day conference, taking place on November 2nd at Hawthorne Valley Farm, that focuses on creating connection and improving communication, access, and understanding in the local food system. Most importantly, the Summit facilitates new connections between farmers, distributors, and chefs.
On race day, we’ll meet at Print at 9:30am to check in and drop off bags. At 10am we’ll run/walk 3.1 miles down the West Side Highway Running Path and then hang out post race on Print’s beautiful rooftop with a free beer or smoothie.
All running levels welcome.

The Slow Food NYC monthly Happy Hour! It’s fun, social, and informal. But it’s also your opportunity to talk to the leadership of Slow Food NYC and let us know what you think. Got a great idea for an event? Looking for ways to get involved? Want to learn more about Slow Food? Just looking to have a relaxing drink with other “Slow” minded people? The Slur is your opportunity – free and open to everyone.
The JakeWalk, opened by the owners of Smith street’s Stinky Brooklyn and Smith & Vine, exploits their connections to offer up a broad and educated selection of cheeses and wines along with their assortment of small plates. Combined with a comfortable decor and reasonable prices, it is an ideal neighborhood wine bar. But their huge selection of whiskeys (over 120) and seasonally changing original cocktails proclaim that it is also a fantastic local cocktail bar. The JakeWalk places an emphasis on food-and-drink pairings and the educated staff is always ready to make suggestions.
For Slow Food’s Slur, The JakeWalk will be creating a special cocktail and offering our attendees a 20% discount for the evening.
