Save the date for the next LI Small Farm Summit which will take place on Saturday, April 14th, at Hofstra University in Hempstead. It is an all day event, beginning at 8am, and continuing into the evening. We have two keynote speakers lined up, Will Allen from Growing Power in Milwaukee, and Chef Ann Cooper, the Renegade Lunch Lady, who is a pioneer in changing the school lunch program. There will be workshops going on all day, bringing together farmers, homesteaders, parents, teachers, food service personnel, backyard gardeners, bee keepers, fisherman, activists, and all those who care about our food system.
